Privacy Policy
Last updated July 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Work2Go LLC ("Work2Go," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use work2go.org and our related services (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. It is incorporated into and part of our Terms of Service.
Work2Go is a marketplace that connects Customers with independent Service Providers, many of whom are minors between the ages of 14 and 17 who work with the approval and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We take the privacy and safety of minors seriously. Please read the "Children's and Minors' Privacy" section below.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you provide when you create an account:
- Your name, email address, and password.
- Your role (Customer or Service Provider).
- Your street address or neighborhood, which we convert ("geocode") into approximate map coordinates in order to match Customers and Service Providers by distance.
- For Service Providers: your service radius, availability, the services you list (titles, descriptions, prices, and any photos you upload), and payout details you choose to provide so we can pay you.
Information generated as you use the Services:
- Bookings, job requests, and their status.
- Messages you send to other users through the Services.
- Reviews and ratings you write or receive.
Payment information:
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Stripe collects and processes your payment information under its own privacy policy.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical and usage information, such as your device type, browser, IP address, pages viewed, and general log data, collected by our hosting and infrastructure providers to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and provide the Services.
- Match Customers and Service Providers by location and show relevant listings.
- Facilitate bookings, messages, reviews, and payments.
- Communicate with you, including sending confirmations, account notices, and support responses, by email or SMS.
- Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
3. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
With other users. To make the marketplace work, certain information is visible to other users. Your public profile shows only your display name, avatar, and general availability. A Service Provider's listings are public. When a booking or conversation exists between two users, they can exchange messages and see the information necessary to complete the job. We do not display your email address, street address, or exact coordinates to other users; location is used only to compute distance on our servers.
With service providers who help us operate. We share information with vendors that process data on our behalf, including: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Stripe (payment processing), Mapbox (address geocoding and maps), and Vercel (website hosting). These providers may process your information only as needed to provide their services to us.
For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person, including minors; to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our rights.
Business transfers. If Work2Go is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
4. LOCATION INFORMATION
When you provide a street address or neighborhood, we convert it into approximate latitude/longitude coordinates so we can match users by distance. Your address text and exact coordinates are kept private and are not shown to other users. Distance matching is performed on our servers; other users only see general distance or area information necessary to use the Services.
5. CHILDREN'S AND MINORS' PRIVACY
The Services are intended for users who are at least 14 years old. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 14 to create an account or use the Services.
In accordance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it as quickly as reasonably practicable.
For minors between 14 and 17, use of the Services requires the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and a parent or guardian must approve each job or engagement. A parent or legal guardian may review, request changes to, or request deletion of their minor's information, and may withdraw consent and close the account, by contacting us at work2goservices@gmail.com. We encourage parents and guardians to be involved in their minor's use of the Services and to review this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service with them.
6. DATA RETENTION
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, and thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain safety and security, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
7. SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including access controls and encryption in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
8. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
- Access and update. You can view and update much of your account information in your account settings, or by contacting us.
- Deletion. You may request that we delete your account and associated personal information by contacting us at work2goservices@gmail.com. Some information may be retained as described in "Data Retention."
- Email and SMS. You can opt out of promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in them, and stop SMS messages by replying "STOP." We may still send you non-promotional messages about your account or transactions.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information). To exercise any such right, contact us at work2goservices@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share; the right to request deletion; and the right to correct inaccurate information. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, contact us at work2goservices@gmail.com.
10. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Services, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect how the Services function.
11. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
The Services may link to or rely on third-party websites and services (such as Stripe and Mapbox). Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
12. INTERNATIONAL USERS
The Services are hosted and operated in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
